Description

Automated pallet wrapping machines quickly wrap pallets in seconds, making them ideal for daily higher volumes of 15 pallets plus per day.

Turntable pallet wrap machines can be loaded with a forklift or manual/hand pump truck. A built-in control panel adjusts the tension and turntable speed.

Available add-ons, including a ramp and digital weight scales, are listed within the product table. See L-PAC’s compatible machine pallet stretch wrap.

Each machine comes with a 3 year warranty for parts and 12 months for labour.

Ecoplat Range

For users looking to upgrade from hand pallet wrapping.

The Ecoplat plus base is an entry-level machine that has all the basic controls you need for quick and easy pallet wrapping.

The Ecoplat plus FRD has a more advanced control panel with additional settings and pallet wrap options.

These machines require machine stretch wrap with a yield of 150-200%. Supplied with a 1650mm turntable, with 2000kg capacity and a 2200mm wrap height.

Rotoplat Range

For users who are looking for an advanced solution with the best pallet wrapping technology.

The Rotoplat machines can be adjusted in a variety of ways to accomodate irregularly shaped pallets. They have a user-friendly control panel in the form of a 7-inch touch screen, allowing you to present your requirements and control the containment force, rotation speed, roping and banding at 9 levels per load.

Supplied with a 1650mm turntable as standard, with 1800, 2200 and 2400mm options available on request.

Standard wrap height is up to 2200mm, with 2400, 2800 & 3100mm options available on request.

Types of Film Carriage

FRD (Friction Roller Drive) carriage with a mechanical brake is manually adjusted and has an indicator to show the tension setting. There is also a tension on/off lever to allow film to be released for attaching to the pallet without altering the film tension.

PDS (Power Differential Stretch) carriage has a double pre-stretching system that can be activated by a control panel.  Pre-stretch system is fixed at 250%. “Stretch Control” activates the electromagnetic clutch positioned on the first roller.

PVS (Performance Variable Switch) carriage comes with powered stretch system controlled by two independent motors. Stretch ratio adjustable from the panel board from 150% up to 400%. Force to the load is controlled by patented electronic device and adjustable from panel board.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What is the difference between stretch film pallet wrap and shrink wrap?
Stretch film pallet wrap is an elastic plastic film that is pulled tight around goods to secure them via tension. Shrink wrap, conversely, is applied loosely and then shrunk using heat. For most industrial shipping, stretch film is the standard choice for load stability.

How do I choose the right pallet stretch wrapping for my business?
Choosing the right pallet stretch wrapping depends on your volume and load type. High-volume operations typically benefit from machine-grade film, while smaller businesses may find hand-applied film more cost-effective.

L-PAC supplies both hand pallet wrap and machine pallet wrap at competitive prices to businesses of any size, ensuring cost efficiency in their packing processes.

When should I use machine stretch wrap instead of hand wrap?
Machine stretch wrap is designed for high-performance wrapping at scale. If you are wrapping more than 10-15 pallets per day, a machine will improve efficiency and provide superior load containment compared to manual methods.

What is the best pallet wrapping film for heavy loads?
For heavy or irregular loads, a high-micron pallet wrapping film or a “blown” stretch film is recommended due to its superior puncture resistance and high holding force, ensuring the load stays intact during transit.

Can machine stretch film be used for hand wrapping?
It is generally not recommended. Machine stretch film is designed to be stretched by the rollers of a machine (often up to 250-300%). Without that mechanical force, it won’t provide the necessary tension if applied by hand. Browse L-PAC’s hand pallet wrap for a cost effective packaging solution.

What is the most cost-effective plastic pallet wrap for ecommerce?
For ecommerce fulfilment, a pre-stretched plastic pallet wrap is often the most cost-effective. It requires less physical effort to apply and uses less plastic per pallet while maintaining excellent containment.

How do I ensure a stretch film pallet is secure for international shipping?
To secure a stretch film pallet, ensure you overlap each layer by at least 50% and secure the film to the pallet base itself. This “bonding” prevents the load from sliding off the wooden pallet during sea or air freight.

What is the difference between cast and blown pallet wrap film?
Pallet wrap film comes in two main types. Cast film is quiet and transparent, making it great for barcode scanning. Blown film is louder and stickier but offers much higher strength and tear resistance for heavy-duty applications.

Why is pallet wrapping plastic essential for warehouse safety?
Proper pallet wrapping plastic application prevents “load shift,” which is a leading cause of warehouse accidents and forklift tipped loads. It ensures that individual boxes act as a single, solid unit.

How much stretch pallet wrapping do I need per pallet?
The amount of stretch pallet wrapping required depends on the weight of the load. Generally, 3-5 wraps at the top and bottom, with a 50% overlap in the middle, is the industry standard for a secure finish.

What is the shelf life of machine stretch wrap?
High-quality machine stretch wrap typically has a shelf life of about one year. To maintain its tack and elasticity, it should be stored in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

How do I prevent tearing when using pallet wrapping plastic?
If your pallet wrapping plastic is tearing frequently, check for sharp corners on your boxes or consider switching to a thicker micron film. Ensuring your pallet wrap dispenser is held at the correct angle can also prevent edge nicks.

What is the cost-per-pallet benefit of a stretch pallet wrapper?
While the initial investment in a stretch pallet wrapper is higher, it significantly reduces the cost-per-pallet by optimising film usage and reducing labor time, often paying for itself within 12-18 months.
